The 2026 Personal Finance and Investment Symposium will be held in Melbourne on 22-23 November 2026 as part of the annual Academy of Financial Services Australia-New Zealand Chapter meeting. The hybrid symposium brings together academics, practitioners, policymakers, and research students to share research and discuss current issues in personal finance, financial planning, and individual financial management. Topics of interest include retirement planning, estate planning, insurance, investments, taxation, fintech, AI, ethics, regulation, financial education, equity and inclusion, behavioural finance, financial psychology, and financial literacy.

The symposium provides a focused forum for exchanging research ideas, receiving constructive feedback, and fostering new research connections across the personal finance and financial planning research community. The program will feature Professor Roger Wilkins from the Melbourne Institute, University of Melbourne, as distinguished keynote speaker. Selected high-quality papers may be invited for fast-track review in a regular issue of Financial Services Review or Financial Planning Research Journal.
